Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 September 2026

1. Who we are

ShieldScam is provided by xplor group llc, a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us for your use of the ShieldScam browser extension and subscription (the "Service"). By starting a trial, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

2. What the Service does, and doesn't do

ShieldScam reads the visible text of web pages in your browser and compares it with patterns commonly used in scams (for example fake giveaways, phishing messages, fraudulent marketplace listings and fake support numbers). When it finds such patterns it shows a warning.

ShieldScam does not and cannot:

Treat warnings as a reason to slow down and check, not as a verdict. You remain responsible for your own decisions, including whether to pay, share information or trust a third party.

3. Your account

Your account is identified by the email address you use at checkout. You sign in on a browser with a one-time code sent to that address. Keep access to your email secure; anyone who can read it can sign in to your account. One subscription covers up to 3 browsers at a time; signing in on a fourth signs out the least recently used one.

4. Free trial

New customers get a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start it. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and your card is charged the subscription price shown at checkout. Each person may use the free trial once.

5. Subscription, billing and renewal

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the extension (Manage subscription), which opens Stripe's secure billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until then. Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: resell, sublicense or share your account beyond your own browsers; reverse-engineer the Service to bypass the subscription; interfere with or overload our servers; or use the Service for anything unlawful.

8. Privacy

The pages you visit are analysed on your device and never sent to us. What we do collect (your email and subscription status) is explained in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to the Service

We improve ShieldScam over time, including its detection rules. We may change, add or remove features, provided the core function (warning about scam patterns) continues. If we ever discontinue the Service, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any unused part of a prepaid period.

10. Ending your access

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if a payment is reversed through a chargeback. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

11. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses caused by relying on, or by the absence of, a warning, including money lost to a scam that ShieldScam didn't flag, or a decision you made because of a warning. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and tell subscribers by email before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you live elsewhere, you also keep any consumer protections that the law of your country of residence gives you.
